Tasia Mehzabin Kazi, Ph.D.

Biography

Tasia Mehzabin Kazi is a Lecturer of Sociology at the University of Houston-Clear Lake. She earned her Ph.D. in Sociology from Louisiana State University and holds both a bachelor's and master's degree in Women and Gender Studies from the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. She also studied as an exchange student at the Asian Institute of Technology in Thailand.

Dedicated to student success, Dr. Kazi focuses on creating engaging learning environments and preparing undergraduate and graduate students for academic and professional growth. Her research examines the intersections of gender, immigration, and health, with particular attention to how social determinants shape health outcomes. Her teaching interests include Medical Sociology, Women's Health, Sociology of Immigration, Introductory Sociology, Urban Sociology, Social Stratification, Public Sociology, and Qualitative Methods.

Dr. Kazi is also active in community engagement and volunteer work with nonprofit organizations.
